The Congo Square New World Rhythms Festival celebrates New Orleans traditions that stem from African and the African diaspora. Held in Congo Square and sponsored by the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation, it generally features Mardi Gras Indians, African dance, a variety of music including jazz, brass bands, soul, funk, Latin Jazz and West African highlife along with an arts market and Class Got Brass, a school-wide brass band competition and performance.
